Long time resident Joel Ott started his graphic design business in 2002 and has found Austin Ranch to be a great area to connect with clients and potential clients.
“The Ranch is certainly conducive to client meetings – I’ve sealed a few decent deals while enjoying adult beverages at Zen, Gecko and Centro. Plus the business centers & free Wi-Fi at the Lodge have come in handy when I need to get out of my studio to get the creative juices flowing.”
After a less than successful attempt at co-publishing “M.”, a Dallas men’s magazine, Ott decided in 2006 to focus his efforts on Fletchergraphics, his Austin Ranch-based design studio. You’ve probably even seen Joel’s work – he has helped us out on many of the Austin Ranch event flyers & emails our residents receive.
The majority of his work is business-to-business marketing materials, but he also finds himself designing t-shirts or editing family photos from time to time. “I have to stay versatile in a competitive market and if that means jumping through hoops or staying up all night to meet a deadline, so be it.”
